Royal Academy of Dance Examinations: The Royal Academy of Dance offers an internationally recognized portfolio of examinations and assessments designed to encourage, motivate and reward students of all ages and abilities, outlining a progressive structure for learning and achievement in dance.
The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is one of the largest and most influential dance education and training organizations in the world being taught in over 70 countries. Established in 1920, to improve standards and re-invigorate dance training, the Academy helps and encourages its teachers to perfect their teaching skills and pass on this knowledge to their students. The Allegro West Academy of Dance follows the syllabus of the Royal Academy of Dance. The syllabus is progressively graded from Pre-primary and Primary, through Grades 1-8, and vocational exams from Intermediate Foundation to Advanced 2. We assume every student taking a ballet class is going to take their RAD exam in the Spring. If you don’t plan on your child taking this exam, please mark this on your registration form. The fees for each level will be posted in January (approx. $70 to $250 per child depending on level of exam) and the fees are due February 1st.
